Lady's Page
Welcome to
Welcome to my web page. I'm Lady. I'm Ed's better half... well, maybe not, but don't let him
know I said that.

I came into Ed's life in October of 2005. I was rescued from a pond in Buckeye, and I was
rescued with a puppy (I have no idea who that mangy little mutt belonged to). I was originally
reluctant to live with Ed, and I really miss my previous home, but it didn't take long for Ed to
show me how much he loved me, and then it wasn't long before I returned the love.

When I first came into Ed's life I had some problems with my eyes (eyelashes growing into the
eye). Rescue A Golden of Arizona did surgery on my eyes and I had to wear a stupid plastic
cone on my head for a month. Boy was I ever glad to get rid of that...

It didn't take long for Ed to realize I was a great dog. He was originally going to change my
name when I came to live with him, but soon realized that I truly am a Lady, and that's the
name I'll have for the rest of my life. I was only with Ed a short time when he started taking me
out to meet people, and to show people how perfect golden retrievers are. This is my calling.
I'm one of Rescue A Golden's Ambasadogs. I love people and I love other dogs, especially
goldens. And I just like to go places. Any chance I get to go anywhere, I'm a happy puppy. I
especially like going camping.

In April of 2009, Ed went on a trip to Texas and was gone most of the month of April. He left
me at home and Ed's sister stayed with me, or took me to her house, but I really missed Ed,
and I was lonely. At the end of his trip, Lois loaded me in her car and we drove for what
seemed like forever, arriving in Carlsbad, NM late in the afternoon. I wasn't expecting to see
Ed in New Mexico, but boy was I ever happy to see him.

In August, Ed took me with on a trip that started in Williams, AZ and then we went on to Lake
Tahoe, Wine Country and Yosemite, before heading home through L.A. I had a great time. I
actually got to travel with Ed. I hope he takes me with no matter where he goes, or how long
he's on the road. I'm anxiously awaiting my next journey. Maybe I'll get to see all 50 states like
Ed has.

As you can see, I have the life of
leisure. Of course, this comes
with its price. When I was
rescued, I weighed only 52
pounds, which is way too thin for
a Golden Retriever, so I've put
on a few pounds, currently
weighing 75 pounds, and now
those same people are saying
that i need to lose weight. Maybe
I should take Ed on more walks
and then we'd both lose a few
pounds.
When the rescue called Ed to let him
know that I was ready to move in with
him, he rejected me because he didn't
know if I would get along with cats. At
the time he had 3 cats, all adopted.
Well, I do get along with cats, so
much so that in 2008 I adopted my
own cat, Shadow. She and I are best
friends, sharing our beds, toys and
food (well, maybe not so much, but I
clean her dish for her. This is Biggie,
and we're best friends too.

This is the psycho cat from Hell,
Calliope. She does everything in
her power to aggravate Ed, and
she's very good at it.

Last year at Christmas time Ed took a bunch of pictures of Squatsi and me. He made me wear
a silly Santa hat and tried his best to get the disgusted look off my face. I tried very hard to
smile, but even for me it was quite difficult. I know I look totally silly. What do you think?
This picture appears at the top of the page
as well, but it was taken in 2005 and was
then published in the 2006 Hearts of Gold
calendar from Rescue A Golden of Arizona.
I didn't get a full-page, but I was just happy
to have taken my first step towards being a
supermodel.
I warned Ed not to wash my bed in HOT
water, but he didn't listen. Can someone
please buy me a new bed for Christmas?
This is embarassing. Everyone in Rescue is
talking about me and my tiny bed. I keep
telling them size doesn't matter. but I know
in my heart that they're all laughing at me
behind my back.
